Eastman SB55/V-SB
The Eastman SB55/V-SB Single Cut Electric Guitar, finished in Sunburst, features a capless single-piece slab Okoume Mahogany solid body, providing lightweight playability without skimping on tone. The incredible resonance of this instrument is thanks to a super smooth, super thin Antique Varnish finish, which also gives the SB55/V-SB a classic vintage aesthetic. These tonewoods and aesthetic are a match made in heaven with a single Lollar '50s spec P90 in the bridge. Perfect for warm, growling '50s style riffs that don't sacrifice on the details, this low output pickup produces a well-defined, bright tone, with minimal distortion - the result is plenty of room for chordal articulations and the subtlety of your playing to cut through the mix. Premium Faber hardware, including a compensated bridge, provides perfect intonation, while a no-load pot provides incredibly pure signal by bypassing itself from the signal chain when set to 10.
At Riffs & Licks Music, we think the Eastman SB55/V-SB Single Cut Electric Guitar, in Antique Sunburst, strikes the perfect balance between vintage tone and aesthetic, and modern conveniences, for a premium quality guitar, at an affordable price.

Goes head to head against the big G.By: Tat on 23 February 2021Before purchasing one of these Eastman SB55/V I already own a Gibson Les Paul Junior (2015), Gibson Les Paul Special (2020) and a Gibson Les Paul Classic P90 '(2018). The Eastman goes head to head against all the Gibson's I own and in fact the build quality may even be a cut above the Gibson's. The Lollar pickup in the Eastman is a Godsend, gritty but not overly so and cleans up very nice when volume is rolled back. I have another Eastman acoustic that comes with the antique varnish finish just like this SB55/V, and I much prefer the antique varnish over nitro finish, it does seem to allow the wood to vibrate a bit more freely and the feel of it is exceptional for where I live - humidity always makes nitro guitars a bit sticky in the hands but there's no such problem with antique varnish. I am not someone who would actively seek out relic'ed guitars to buy but I genuinely find the Eastman /V relic very nicely done and not excessive at all. Yes, I am over the moon with the purchase and of course Riffs and Licks contributed to the positive purchase experience with their excellent and speedy service.
