Inspired by Gibson

Part of the Inspired by Gibson Collection, the Epiphone SG Standard 60s is a recreation of the first-year-production 1961 SG. Much like the original, the Epiphone SG Standard 60s features a mahogany body, trapezoid inlays, deluxe vintage machineheads, and nickel hardware. The Epiphone SG Standard 60s also features some modern updates, such as an Indian Laurel fretboard with medium jumbo frets, on a SlimTaper neck.

For maximum tonal authenticity, the Epiphone SG Standard 60s also features the Epiphone ProBucker humbuckers with CTS electronics, Epiphone's most faithful recreation of the classic PAF pickups. The Epiphone ProBuckers feature 18% Nickel Silver bases and covers, providing a crisper, more transparent output, just like the Gibson Kalamazoo originals. The Epiphone ProBucker humbuckers also feature sand-cast Alnico II magnets, 4-conductor leads wire, wax potting for eliminating microphonics, and bobbins which duplicate the size and shape of Gibson humbuckers.
