Fender American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster MN Butterscotch Blonde
The Fender American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster MN, finished in Butterscotch Blonde, is part of the American Vintage II series. Much like its predecessor, the American Vintage series, the American Vintage II series revives some of the most revolutionary designs in the history of the electric guitar. Built with uncompromising detail and impeccable craftsmanship, this series features period-accurate bodies, necks and hardware, as well as some incredible finishes, and painstakingly voiced year-specific pickups. Each instrument captures the spirit of its namesake, and is a testament to authentic Fender craftsmanship and tone.
The first Telecaster rolled off the production line in 1951 - this simple yet innovative design was ground-breaking for its time, and has remained one of the most popular solid-bodied electric guitars since its introduction. The name 'Telecaster' was inspired by the then-booming television industry, after a cease-and-desist from Gretsch over Fender's use of this model's original name, the 'Broadcaster,' after only one year of production.
This faithful tribute features a pair of Pure Vintage '51 Single-Coil Tele pickups, a period-accurate Ash body, a nice and thick period-accurate 1951 "U"-profile 1-Piece Maple neck, and Maple fingerboard with 21 Vintage Tall frets - all of which expertly captures the tone, look, and feel of the original king of twang. Other period-accurate features abound, like a Pure Vintage 3-saddle Tele bridge with brass barrel saddles, Pure Vintage single-line Fender Deluxe machine heads, and a 1-ply black phenolic pickguard. Fender have even included the narrower 12th-fret dot spacing, and just like the original, the only Phillips head screw on this Tele is at the truss rod nut. An understated yet eye-catching Butterscotch Blonde Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish completes the vintage aesthetic, while a vintage-style tweed hard case with crushed red interior keeps your instrument protected in style.
At Riffs & Licks Music, we love the Fender American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster MN, in Butterscotch Blonde, for its incredible revival of a vintage classic - if you love the look, feel and tone of vintage instruments (but don't love their price tag), this is definitely one to consider.
