An Acoustic Guitar for the Next Generation of Musicians
The Gibson G-200 EC Acoustic Guitar, finished in Natural, is part of the Generation series of acoustic guitars; a new line of acoustic guitars for the next generation of guitarists. The Generation series strike a perfect balance between classic, tried and tested features, combined with modern designs. Much like the classic J-200, the G-200 features a jumbo acoustic profile, as well as the famed guitar building techniques of the Gibson Montana factory.
Modern design updates include a slimmer body thickness, for greater comfortability when both sitting and standing, as well as the Gibson Advanced Response neck profile, for increased comfortability and playability across the neck. The Gibson Player Port is also featured on the G-200, as a modern update to a design feature first conceptualised in the early '60s. The Player Port allows you to hear your acoustic the same way that the audience hears it, making for an immersive playing and listening experience. The G-200's tonewood pairing is perfect for the modern acoustic guitarist, with a solid Sitka Spruce top and solid Walnut back and sides, providing the G-200 with plenty of twang, as well as bright, crisp highs, strong lows, and more present mids, which sit somewhere between that of Mahogany and Rosewood. The subtle nuances of these tonewoods aren't lost when plugging in the G-200, thanks to an LR Baggs Element Bronze pickup system. The G-200 also features a Utile neck and striped Ebony fingerboard. Utile is an extremely durable and more sustainable alternative to Mahogany, exhibiting very similar tonal and playability characteristics. Striped Ebony is more sustainable than traditional Ebony, as it utilises the entire Ebony tree; it also makes for aesthetically pleasing and unique patterns.
At Riffs & Licks Music, we think the Gibson G-200 EC Acoustic Guitar, in Natural, is a great option for the modern singer/songwriter, or anyone searching for an extremely comfortable and playable modern update to the classic jumbo Gibson.
