Since its introduction in the '60s, the Condor has been one of Hagstrom's most innovative instruments, inspiring countless professional and aspiring musicians worldwide. Compared to the original, the Condor RetroScape features a more comfortable, rounded profile for its set Mahogany neck, which has been expertly hand carved and joined using Hagstrom's classic mortise-and-tenon set neck joint system, for maximum sustain. Weight balance has been optimised for effortless playing, and the switching array, while maintaining the vintage look and functionality of the original, incorporates modern ergonomic slide switching. The Vintage Tremar vibrato unit also maintains the look of the original, while some design elements have been updated to ensure solid and reliable tuning stability. 

A Resinator Wood fingerboard provides comfortable playability for hours on end - Resinator Wood is a wood composite that has a stable, clear and articulate tone similar to Ebony. Hagstrom's H-Expander truss rod runs the full length of the neck, providing plenty of stability, and adding a round attack and even greater sustain. A Mahogany body creates a perfect tonal foundation for a trio of Hagstrom's Alnico 5 Retro-S single coil pickups. Combined with the switching array, these versatile pickups are perfect for everything from convincingly '60s tones, to jazzy rhythm chords, to overdriven and distorted modern tones, with plenty of clarity. The switching array features three On/Off switches (one for each pickup), as well as a Master Tone On/Off, Bass Cut, and Mute switch. The Bass Cut switch is perfect for '60s surf rock, and features icy treble tones, while the Mute switch acts similarly to a trumpet mute, creating dark, muddy tones perfect for old-school jazz rhythms. The Master Tone On/Off switch acts as a tone boost, fattening up your pickups.
