A new Ibanez RGA 7 String for 2021
If Ibanez can lay claim to the title of being the strongest name in metal guitars, then the RGA is the model this reputation was built on. Every inch of this classic axe screams speed, fury, and expression.
The RGA742FM is a hardtail, 7-string electric guitar that features a sultry Flamed Maple top with white binding, a fast, thin Wizard II 3 piece Maple neck and a Jatoba fretboard with jumbo frets for maximum left-hand performance. Combined, the neck and fretboard provide a smooth, inviting playing surface and contribute to the RGA742’s warm, well-defined tonality.
The Quantum-7 humbucker pickups offer an entire palette of thick, distorted tone textures that never sacrifice high-end articulation. A simple yet solid fixed bridge provides stable, dependable tuning and accurate intonation.
If you need a new affordable 7 string for those heavier genres, the Ibanez RGA742FM fits the bill.

Looking for a decent 7 string? This is great!By: Brendan Mac on 31 December 2021I was looking for a decent 7 string for less than a thousand and I found it. I was apprehensive at first when I tried it out, but with lighter gauge strings (Ernie Ball 9-42 + a 54 B string), lowering of the pickups and lowering and correcting the action, I am suitably impressed with the guitar for the price! This machine is a BEAST! Definitely worth the price I paid for it. It plays smoothly and effortlessly, It's an Ibanez, what did you expect? If you're looking for a decent mid-cost, seven-string guitar, this will suit your needs absolutely. The only thing lacking is a variety of available colours, that's about it. It has a monster tone right out of the gate. I've run it through my Marshall JCM2000 DSL 100w head and also through a Fender Frontman 65R combo and the tone is huge! The guitar is lightweight and comfortable to play and THAT NECK! OMG! Noice, very noice!
