An updated version of one of Ludwig's most legendary snares, the Ludwig Black Beauty LB417 Brass Snare Drum features a beaded brass shell, with sturdy chrome hardware, and a black nickel plating finish. Tonally, brass is very warm and metallic, responding with far greater sensitivity to similar metal snares. The Black Beauty is one of the most legendary snares ever created, and made a major contribution towards Ludwig's popularity - despite the numerous imitations, the Black Beauty's sound is one which has never truly been duplicated.
