The Tama SP1455H Simon Phillips Signature "The Gladiator" Bronze 14" x 5.5" Snare Drum is an excellent secondary snare that complements Simon's two other snares, The Monarch and the Pageant. Perfect for many of his various projects, Simon Phillips' Gladiator signature snare is a 14x5.5" 1.2mm thick nickel plated bronze shell. Its warm tone and rich body are perfectly complemented by the crisp attack produced by the brushed nickel Brass Mighty hoops.

Simon's main snare drum, "The Monarch", produces never-heard-before tones thanks to its 8ply maple/bubinga/maple hybrid shell and customized triple flanged hoops. This combination provides a warm controlled sound with sharp, bright cut. His second main snare drum, the Gladiator, features black nickel-plated bronze shell. His Pageant maple drum completes Simon's snare drum arsenal.
